To bring in more texture and color into your dining room table, try adding a placemat or two. They offer added design style to a dining room, but also help to define the table settings. This is especially useful for when you need to squeeze in more seats for your dinner party or have a unique shaped table, such as a circular one.

Placemat Styling

• Try to pair the color of your placemat with another textile in the dining room, such as a rug or chair pad.
• Like zoning an area rug, make sure that your placemat is the right size. A good rule of thumb is to have a couple inches of placemat visible past your dishware. This way you get to admire your placemat while you dine.
